RIF Trust on Türkiye’s Passport Ranking

Our Turkish Citizenship by Investment specialist is Tolga Duruman, the RIF Trust Country Manager – Türkiye. One of the most pressing concerns of HNWIS looking to invest in a second citizenship in Türkiye is the Turkish passport visa-free countries.

RIF Trust’s resident Türkiye expert advises those considering Turkish citizenship to consult our Passport Index, the most regularly updated index where ““the passport rank combines the number of visa-free, visa-on-arrival, and eVisa countries.””

“You should check out the Turkish Passport Ranking. Bear in mind that there is more than one way to view Turkish passport visa-free countries. The passport rank I previously mentioned is one way and visa-free destinations alone, another. Türkiye is home to the world’s 37th most powerful travel document and this passport becomes available through the Turkish Citizenship by Investment Program.”

Tolga concludes: “In this article, you will uncover a summary of the Turkish passport, outlining the countries you can visit without a visa, the destinations requesting a visa on arrival, those requiring an eVisa, and ones asking that you apply for a visa before your arrival.”

Residency and Citizenship by Investment Second Passport Alternatives Part 1

There’s no doubt the 137 Turkish passport visa-free countries will make your business and leisure travel easier. You should know though that there are other passports available through a new residency or second citizenship. You must take into account program costs, length of processing, and naturalization timing.

A major benefit of the $400,000 Turkish Citizenship by Investment is that it results in direct citizenship. After 4-6 months of processing, you become a citizen of Türkiye and qualify for its passport. A surprise destination that you don’t need a visa to travel to with a Turkish passport is Japan because of the two countries’ close relationship.

Nevertheless there are more powerful passports available to invest in. The Caribbean region is one area to explore, with $200,000 Dominica Citizenship by Investment making you eligible for the 23rd-placed Dominica passport (156/199). In 21st position is the St Lucia passport which you can secure via a $240,000 investment in St Lucia Citizenship by Investment.

Then there’s the Grenada passport (160/199), one spot above neighbor St Lucia’s travel document, all yours through a $235,000 Grenada Citizenship by Investment. Also in the Caribbean, invest at least $230,000 in Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship by Investment and you’re able to obtain the 19th-placed Antigua and Barbuda passport (161/199). Elsewhere in the region, the threshold for St Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment is $250,000, entitling you to 16th-positioned St Kitts and Nevis passport (166/199).

€600,000 is the required Maltese Exceptional Investor Naturalization (MEIN) minimum for the travel document ranked 8th, the Maltese passport (176/199). You can claim the 7th strongest travel document, the Canadian passport (177/199), after 5 years naturalizing following investment in the C$275,000 Canada Start-up Visa.

RCBI Second Passport Alternatives Part 2

Sharing the honors in 6th place are the UK passport and the US passport (178/199). Naturalize in 5 years through the £200,000 UK Innovator Founder Visa. The route to citizenship is the same if you invest a minimum $800,000 in the US EB-5 Investor Visa.

2 passports in 3rd position are the Greek passport and the Portuguese passport, guaranteeing arrival to 181 visa-free countries. A €250,000 Greek Golden Visa can see you obtain Greek citizenship via 7 years of naturalization period while it only takes 5 years after applying for the €325,000 Portuguese Golden Visa before you receive Portuguese nationality.

Top of our Index is the Spanish passport, as it allows you entry to 183 visa-free destinations. You become a Spanish national after 10 years (or only 2 if you’re from Latin America or the Philippines). Hurry as the last day to apply for the €350,000 Spanish Golden Visa is Wednesday, April 2, 2025 as the government will terminate the program on the 3rd.
