Welcome to visa-free travel with Grenadian citizenship

Welcome to visa-free travel with Grenadian citizenship

In today’s globalized business environment, the ability to travel freely across borders has never been more important. Applying for visas is an inconvenience that can be the difference between sealing a business deal and watching it fail from the other side of the world.

The right Citizenship-by-Investment Programme (CIP) allows you the freedom to travel visa free, to key countries in the world. Not all CIPs, however, give access to important global business centres. Here, we look at Grenadian citizenship. This provides excellent options for business people and investors looking for global mobility.

A powerful second passport

Christopher Willis, Latitude’s Managing Director in the Caribbean, believes Grenada’s CIP is one of the most attractive for investors: “The Grenada CIP may not offer the most visa-free countries, but it does provide access to some of the most strategically important for business. To be able to fly to an important meeting at the drop of a hat gives you such an incredible advantage.”

Grenadian citizenship offers visa-free entry to China, Singapore, and the UK.

Important visa-free countries accessible with a Grenadian passport

China

China is the world’s production powerhouse, responsible for 20% of global manufacturing output. For business people and investors, flexible access to such a strategically important country is a must-have.

Grenadian citizens can travel to China visa-free for 30 days at a time. This is a convenient benefit that is not available from any other Caribbean CIP.

United Kingdom

The UK, particularly London, is a hub of global finance and business. With cosmopolitan, multicultural cities spread across the UK, lucrative opportunities lie around every corner. Easy access to the UK is essential for global citizens. Grenada’s citizens can visit visa free for up to six months at a time.

Singapore

Singapore is a major hub for finance and business in Asia. The strategically-located nation has a strong economy. Many of the region’s most successful corporations operate from the country.

Grenada passport holders can enter Singapore without a visa. They are entitled to stay and attend business meetings for up to 30 days at a time.

With Singapore’s Changi Airport a major transit hub for long-haul flights, it’s a great perk that Grenadian citizens are free to leave the airport. They can enjoy the city when passing through, rather than staying within the confines of the airport.

Hong Kong

Hong Kong is the financial centre that keeps the Chinese manufacturing machine ticking. Many of the region’s largest corporations have their headquarters on the island.

Grenadian passport holders are entitled to enter Hong Kong. They can conduct business meetings for up to 90 days without a visa.

Reside and conduct business in the USA (via E-2 Investor Visa)

The United States of America is ‘the land of opportunity’. Ambitious immigrants developed the country. Today it’s home to the world’s biggest corporations.

The US has notoriously strict immigration rules. Citizens of many countries are uneligible to apply for the E-2 visa. In order to be eligible to apply, you must be a citizen of an E-2 Treaty country. Many large countries, such as South Africa, Brazil and India, are not part of this treaty and therefore citizens of those countries cannot apply for the E-2 visa.

If you became a citizen of a treaty country, you would then be able to make an application based on this second citizenship. Grenada is one such treaty country. Acquiring economic citizenship from it would make you eligible to apply to the US under the E-2 visa.

The E-2 visa grants Grenadian citizens the right to live, work, and conduct business in the USA for up to five years at a time. E-2 visa applicants must make a significant investment in a US-based enterprise and be actively involved in running the enterprise. E-2 visas extend to  your spouse and children. You and your dependants can work and study anywhere in the USA.
