How to Get a Greece Golden Visa in 2024

Our team is made up of specialists. Mohamed Hegazy is our Greece Residency by Investment expert. Learn with him how to get a Greece Golden Visa in 2024.

1.) Who is eligible for a Greece Golden Visa?

“To be eligible for the Greece Golden Visa Programme, you must meet certain criteria such as being over 18. You should have medical insurance in place to cover your stay in Greece. Also, you’ll need to provide certificates establishing your relationship with your dependants.”

“The dependants you can include in your Golden Visa application are children up to the age of 21. They can remain in the programme until they reach the age of 24. You can also include your parents and in-laws.”

“There are other key requirements to fulfill. You must show clear evidence of the source of your funds. This programme is not open to citizens of European Union countries. So, if you are an EU citizen, you won’t be eligible.”

2.) What are the investment options?

“In Greece, there are two main options for the Golden Visa investment. First, you can buy real estate. Second, you can invest in a business. These are the main paths to getting the Greece Golden Visa.”

“The real estate option means purchasing property, like a house or apartment, in Greece. It’s important to note that the property value must be at least €250,000 to qualify.”

“This investment gives you and your family the right to live in Greece. Another option is to rent out this real estate as tourism continues to drive the Greek economy. Coastal properties are particularly popular.”

“Then there’s the business investment path. This involves putting €400,000 into an established Greek business or a startup.”

“In return for stimulating economic growth in the country, they grant you the Golden Visa. The Greek economy has recovered well since the pandemic, so buying into a company in Greece is a secure investment.“

3.) How straightforward is the Greece RBI application process?

“We can help you negotiate a bureaucratic labyrinth. Our legal team handles the government forms and documents. We also deal with the property developer. Latitude is your go-between with the Hellenic Republic Ministry of Migration and Asylum.”

“Months one and two are for reviewing and preparing your application. We check it so you meet the Ministry’s rules. Then we send the forms. The Ministry does its checks too. We stay in touch with them for a smooth process. After applying, they give you a receipt as a temporary residence permit.”

“Between months six and twelve, the Ministry reviews your application. If it’s good, you pay the fees and contributions. Then you and your family get the residency certificates for your Golden Visa in Greece.”

4.) What benefits do you receive as a Greek resident?

“Greek Residency by Investment comes with some fantastic perks. First off, you can enjoy a stunning Mediterranean lifestyle. Greece offers beautiful beaches, historic sites, and delicious cuisine.”

“It also opens up travel possibilities. With Greece’s strategic location in Europe, you can explore other European countries. There’s no need for complex visa processes – your Golden Visa gives you access to the Schengen Zone.”

“Acquiring a Greece Golden Visa is a smart financial move. Your investment in property or business can grow over time. You can earn passive income from renting out your real estate, should you base yourself out of Greece.”

5.) How does the Greek Golden Visa compare to other European Residency programmes?

“Greece’s Golden Visa stands alongside residency options in Malta, Portugal, and Spain. Greece is more affordable, requiring an investment of €250,000 in real estate or €400,000 in a business.”

“The Malta Permanent Residence Programme needs you to invest at least €300,000 in real estate. Portugal and Spain also have higher entry levels, starting at €280,000 and €500,000.”

“When it comes to family inclusion, Greece allows you to add your spouse and children under 21. Malta, Portugal, and Spain also accommodate family members. This makes these programmes family-friendly choices too.”

“You can apply for Greek citizenship after seven years of legal residency in Greece. In Malta and Spain, you must reside in the country for 10 years before applying for citizenship.”

“Yet, the Portuguese Golden Visa offers the fastest path to citizenship. You can apply for citizenship after five years of legal residency in Portugal.”
